How safe is it to connect Chaser to my production Stripe account?

Exceptionally safe. Chaser connects exclusively via official Stripe Connect OAuth protocols using strictly restricted, read-only API permissions. We only monitor failed payment webhooks. We can never access your master secret keys, touch your payout structures, or initiate refunds. Furthermore, all user profiles and transaction data are fiercely protected by PostgreSQL Row-Level Security (RLS) protocols and stored on enterprise-grade, SOC 2 Type II compliant cloud infrastructure with full 256-bit AES encryption at rest and in transit.

Will this automatically spam my high-value enterprise clients?

Never. Our 'Human-in-the-Loop' architecture ensures that any account flagged as a VIP or high-value contract is automatically diverted from automated tracking and dropped into your manual 'Needs Attention' queue. Nothing goes out to them without your manual approval.

You connect Stripe in one click from the Integrations page using Stripe's official OAuth flow. We never see or store your secret keys. Chaser only reads invoices, charges, customers, payment methods, and subscription events needed to detect expiring cards, prevent failures, and run recovery on the ones that still happen.

Do you store my customers' credit card details?

Never. Card updates happen on a hosted update page powered by Stripe's encrypted Elements. New payment methods are attached to the customer directly inside Stripe. Chaser never sees, transmits, or stores raw card numbers, and is PCI compliant by design.

What happens the moment a payment fails?

Accepted Answer

Before failures happen, Chaser also scans for cards expiring in the next 30 days and emails customers a secure update link. So most failures never happen. When Stripe still flags a failed charge, Chaser ingests the event in real time, creates a customer + invoice record in your command center, and queues the appropriate recovery sequence. You can see every failed payment, its status, days overdue, and which sequence is attached.

What does a recovery sequence look like?

Each sequence is a series of timed emails that go out automatically after a payment fails. Every message contains a unique, secure link to a hosted page where the customer can update their card. You can assign sequences per-customer or in bulk.
